This song is the equivalent of extracting poison from your heart. Sometimes love just gets so deeply ingrained inside of you and you just have to bleed it out. If you've ever been cheated on, maybe you know the feeling.
"Nothings On Tv"
Chaos was stirring inside of me. After a year and a half of serious activism and travelling the country I had to settle down and sink back into the reality of my situation. Circumstances changed and I couldn't put myself out there anymore. I can't face perilous situations without taking into consideration the lives it may affect beyond mine. So, I mustered up the most intense feelings I had inside of me concerning the chaos in the world and unleashed them. This song was born through the Occupy movement, among other things. :)
"The Way It Seems To Go"
When you love hard and everything crumbles, unfolds, dissipates, explodes, vanishes... whatever... it's hard to believe in the possibility of something quite like it again. Kudos to those that keep going. As for me, I have no idea. But this is just the way it seems to go...
"Lullaby"
My guitarist in Take Back Your Hero told me a story about someone dear to him. This man was driving late at night and accidentally struck a young girl that was out running and killed her. He couldn't get over it. It was consuming his mind and I couldn't imagine the guilt he was feeling. The melody and lyrics to this song came pouring out after hearing this and I dedicated it to him. It seemed to relieve him and I'm happy for that. I hope it brought peace to both souls.
"Beginning Of The End"
Sometimes, I get cynical. Sometimes, I get depressed. As you can tell in this song, I was a combination of the two. It's not my favorite song, but it reminds me that I'm only human.
